Higher Commissions

Civil Service Commission

Civil services that are carried out by the administrative body in Kuwait have been, and will remain an object of government concern and attention. It spares no effort in acting to raise the efficiency of this body and modernize it to be in conformity with the steady progress in various fields of civil services required by citizens.

Committee for Security and Political Issues

The committee is considered amongst the permanent committees in the cabinet and was established in accordance with cabinet resolution number1560 issued during session number 39 on 14/9/1976, it examined the method by which the committee functions, dates and formations.

Higher Committee for Defence

The Higher Committee for Defence was founded in accordance with law number 24 for the year 1963, whereby article one of the law comprises the formation of the committee which is headed by the Prime Minister.

Planning and Development Council

The Planning and Development Council was founded in accordance with decree number 323 for the year 2008 on 30th of Shawwal 1429 corresponding to 29th October 2008, under the chairmanship of His Highness the Prime Minister or whichever minister he delegates.

The High Commission for Structural Planning and Major Construction Projects

The formation of the High Commission for Structural Planning and Major Construction Projects initiated on 16/10/1969, chaired by His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah before assuming power. The commission is attended by his Highness the Crown Prince, a number of Ministers along with some officials from the Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Planning and Kuwait Municipality.

The High Petroleum Commission

The HPC was established by virtue of an Amiri decree issued on August 26th, 1974 and was headed by His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Saad Al-Abdallah Al-Salem Al-Sabah until 1993, then the Amiri decree was amended and the HPC became chaired by His Excellency the then First Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
